I purchased these Swarovski earrings because I thought they would resemble real diamonds more than your average CZs. However, that is not the case. I took pictures of these 1.5 carat $90 Swarovski Cubic Zirconia earrings (in both pictures, they are on the left), next to a 1.0 carat pair that I purchased at Kohl's for $25 (in both pictures, they are on the right).First, the Swarovski's show a completely different setting on the Amazon page than what I received. As you can see in the side pic, the Swarovski setting is super thin & shallow. The Kohl's earrings are in a sturdier setting, where the stone sits *off* your ears, allowing the light to come in at all angles and therefore, sparkle. The Swarovski earrings sit basically *on* your ears - they almost look like shiny stickers more than earrings.Second, the backing is not optimal for these earrings. The Kohl's ones come with a silicone piece that goes in-between your ear and the backing. They work well because (1) it allows the earring to sit up properly on your ear so it doesn't hang down; and (2) if you fall asleep with them in, they don't stick you (minor, but worth mentioning).I'm not advocating that everyone go to Kohl's for earrings; I'm just comparing a $25 pair of earrings that are superior to a $90 Swarovski pair, and I'm sharing this so shoppers don't assume CZ earrings with the Swarovski name will be any better than a cheap department store pair. Also, when I saw how cheesy the setting was, I had to say something. It's really nothing like the photos in their page. #buyerbeware
